Sakura Restaurant is also at Ong Lang beach and it’s a cheerful spot with great Vietnamese food delivered with very sweet service. Enjoy chicken, pork or beef stir-fry for 90,000 dong or with seafood for 150,000 dong. Our fresh prawns with coconut milk sauce was a generous portion and delicious. Sakura is located on the same beach access road to Mango Bay Resort and Mia B&B.
Sakura is owned by a half Vietnamese, half Japanese woman names Kiem. Kiem, the owner, shops for ingredients at the local markets every day, so everything is fresh and you can taste that in her cooking.
If seafood isn’t your thing, that’s ok – Kiem makes everything. From seafood to meat to rice, noodles, and vegetables, she can do it all (and she makes hot pots too). If you call a day in advance, she can make you a whole crab as well. She also speaks perfect English, after having worked with US soldiers in the war, so she’s nice to talk to and can always provide recommendations.
